You walk in an environment that changes continuously, passing from a luminous forest of larch trees to a forest of Scots pine, then continuing in a luxuriant forest of spruce trees. Once in the "Piani di Sedel" you find other imposing larches, while the view extends over the numerous peaks of the Lagorai chain.

Author’s recommendation

In the final part of the route, before the descent, you will find the famous Maso dello Speck, a restaurant with a shop selling typical products.

Safety information

Experience walking along irregular mountain trails is recommended. It may happen that the path is not clear form snow. In the event of fresh snow, microspikes are recommended. Be careful of ice when temperatures are particularly low.

Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the village of Carano, follow the road that leads to Calvello. After parking on the left, near the football field (which is on the hill on the right), take the paved road as far as the first houses. From here continue on the flat dirt road following the “Giro di Solombo” signs.

Continue along the forest road entering the woods to reach "Piani di Sedel" where the road becomes flat again. You continue flat and then go down on a paved road  reaching Maso dello Speck. From here, downhill, you go back to the starting point.
