873 - Lago Santo - Potzmauer Pass
The itinerary brings you into the woods of Valle di Cembra on forest roads and funny paths.
There's no traffic, the presence of panoramic glimpses on Valle dell'Adige, the possibility of refreshment points, and the presence of lake Santo makes it an unmissable destination. Ideal in spring and summer; breathtaking in autumn with its explosion of colors.

Turn-by-turn directions
From the wonderfull lake Santo, where it is to be found also a typical restaurant with possibility of overnight stay, go down along the paved road that leads to Cembra until you see a forest road (signs "baita forestale" Zise") that with an easy and short climb brings to a hut and in Zise locality. From here continue along the E5 path in a northerly direction (Cauria). The road, becomes more panoramic offering beautiful views on Valle dell'Adige and on the Sarentini mountains. Once you arrive at the beginning of a short climb, the itinerary continues on a funny path that, with a few easy ups and downs, brings to the beautiful basin where the Potzmauer Hut is located. From the hut, the route soon reaches the Potzmauer pass, where, following the present signposts, it descends in the direction of Valda. After a fast descent on a forest road with an excellent surface, a steep ascent (signposts for Lago di Valda), which is cemented in places, leads quickly back up to the biotope Lago di Valda, where a long descent of around 4 km begins. You ignore the fork with the "Zise/Lago Santo" sign and instead continue in the direction of Ponciach. At the next crossroads, along the cobbled road that descends to the valley, we begin to climb again, arriving at the idyllic meadows dotted with huts in the Vegiose locality, from where the last short descent takes us back to the starting point near the Lago Santo hut.
