Crossing Monte Viezzena

The spectacular and strenuous ridge hike leads us to the 2496 m high Monte Viezzena peak in Trentino. The Trentino is the southernmost part of South Tyrol and is characterized by a great variety of nature and unique Dolomite peaks. The tour starts at the campsite near the small village of Bellamonte in Val di Fiemme. At first the path leads through light forests and past an idyllic waterfall. We follow the path over gentle meadows to a rustic alp. After a few meters we have reached the ridge and enjoy the spectacular view over the Latemar massif. Surefootedness and a head for heights are required on the ridge that is now beginning. Once the summit has been reached, the view even extends to the highest peaks in the Dolomites in good weather. After a long break, the trail continues slightly downhill. We return to the starting point of Bellamonte via lush meadows.
