The fluvial park along the Avisio
Walk along the banks of the Avisio river and enjoy our biodiversity.
This simple itinerary lets you discover a small world of biodiversity, as well as one of the protected areas of Trentino. Step by step, you will connect deeper and deeper with nature, to discover the flora and fauna that characterize this area. The soundtrack of this walk is the slow babbling of the Avisio river, which can be closely observed along the panoramic walkway and some small bridges that let you cross its small tributaries. The stillness of the place is cheered by the birds' chirping that can be spotted in their natural habitat thanks on the wood turret installed halfway. This is the ideal birdwatching point to learn something more on the different species that populate the Avisio banks.
Author’s recommendation
Fun fact: the symbol of the reserve is the alpine tamerice (German Tamarisk), a plant that grows almost exclusively in this area of Trentino.

Turn-by-turn directions
By crossing the bridge you can walk nearby on the evident dirt road that runs along the Avisio river. Afterwards, the path turns to the left, continuing to flank the river. Passages in groves of kernels, spruces, birches and other shrubs alternate with meadows which invite you to take some pleasant relaxing stops. By following the directions, it is possible to take a short walkway to an observation point on the riverbed. Back on the main path, you can keep walking towards Predazzo. Two wood bridges let you easily cross the tributaries coming from the Lagorai mountain chain, while on a wood turret you can have a privileged view of the local fauna. Here you can deepen the importance of this river park thanks to the information tables on the Network of Reserves.
