From Val Venegia to Monte Mulaz

From the scenic Val Venegia, first a comfortable gravel road on the valley floor, later a strenuous, in places steep serpentine path through sparse mountain forest and extensive scree fields at the foot of bold dolomite peaks takes us up to the Passo di Mulaz. Here, weather permitting, we have the opportunity to climb the 2906 m high Monte Mulaz over its southern flank. The steep marked ascent through rough terrain, which takes about an hour from the pass, requires surefootedness. At the summit, we are rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view Those who forego the summit descend directly to the Rifugio Volpi al Mulaz. From the hut, which is open in summer, our path, which is secured in places with wire ropes, leads north along the eastern side of Monte Mulaz to the Passo di Focobon.
